Conclusion of the "Active Learning Strategies" Training Series for Teachers at Community Learning Centers under the Noor Orphan Care Program in the Gaza Strip

Teach For Palestine, in partnership with the Taawon (Welfare Association), has concluded the training sessions on Active Learning Strategies, delivered as part of the Capacity Building of Educational Staff and Development of Educational Guides and Methodologies project within the Noor Program Community Learning Centers – Year Two. The training targeted 80 teachers working across 12 community centers in the northern, central, and southern governorates of the Gaza Strip.

The training program comprised 40 training hours, distributed between in-person sessions and applied activities, aimed at strengthening teachers' competencies in employing active learning strategies within the classroom and designing interactive learning environments responsive to students' needs in emergency contexts. The program also included intensive practical applications that enabled participants to design and implement interactive educational activities, employ a range of active learning strategies, and develop lesson plans that address individual differences and promote student-centered learning — ultimately contributing to increased student engagement, the development of critical thinking, collaboration, and self-directed learning skills, and the transfer of training impact into daily classroom practices across the learning centers.

This training is part of a comprehensive program encompassing six training tracks delivered throughout the project, including: Active Learning Strategies; Remedial Education Responsive to Psychosocial Support; Learning Environment Management in Crisis-Affected Contexts; Inclusive Education; Integrative Learning and STEAM Methodology; and Digital Learning. The program aims to develop the capacities of educational staff and empower them to deliver quality education for children amid the exceptional circumstances facing the Gaza Strip.

It is worth noting that Teach For Palestine is dedicated to providing quality education for Palestinian students at the lower basic education level by developing the capacities of new teachers in the areas of inclusive education, life skills, digitization, STEAM methodology, psychosocial support, and climate education. The organization also works to enhance the classroom environment by providing educational resources and technological devices to targeted schools.
