Dr. Tafeeda Jarbawi
Acting Chief Executive Officer

Over 10 years, Dr. Tafeeda Jarbawi served as Director General of Taawon (Welfare Association), and has authored more than 40 publications in education, chemistry, development, sustainability, and women’s affairs. Her professional experience in development focuses on management, educational planning, teaching, and research.
Dr. Jarbawi earned her Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Cincinnati and served as professor and head of the Chemistry department at Birzeit University. She has assumed positions of visiting Fulbright Research Professor at theUniversity of Cincinnati and the University of Minnesota.She has also served as Director of UNRWA Ramallah Women’s College and Dean of Educational Science Faculty. Dr. Jarbawi’s contribution to the development of Palestine covers active membership on the boards of many organizations at the national, regional, and international level. These include the Higher Council for Vocational and Technical Education, Accreditation and Quality Assurance for Higher Education, The Palestinian Initiative for the Promotion of Global Dialogue & Democracy (MIFTAH), UNISCO-World Commission of the Ethics of Scientific Knowledge and Technology (COMEST), Bioethics Network on Women’s Issues in the Arab Region. Currently, she is serving as a board member in Bank of Palestine, Al-Quds University, and Taawon NGO.

Mr. Anwar Abu Ammash
Chief Operations Officer

Holds a master’s degree in computer science from Al-Quds University and a Diploma in Education from the Educational Development Institute at UNRWA. At the beginning of his professional career, he worked as a programmer for two years at the Arab Computer Company. He then transitioned to the education field, working at the Ramallah Women's training center, which is affiliated with UNRWA. He spent 13 years there, initially as a lecturer in the Computer Department, later becoming the Head of the Department, and finally as the Deputy Director of the college for the vocational division. 

After that, he moved to work at the NGOs sector, joining Taawon (welfare organization), where he worked for 17 years. He started as a Research Coordinator, then became the manager of the Program Support Unit. He contributed to drafting the organization’s strategic plans. Finally, he became the Education Program Manager for about six years. His work focused on preparing the program’s strategic plan, developing related indicators and annual implementation plans, as well as overseeing project implementation and liaising with donors to secure funding for the program. 

 

Rawan Ayyash
Programs Manager

Holds a BA in English Literature and a minor in translation form Birzeit University, Rawan has 6 years of experience in projects management in the education field. She dedicates her knowledge and experience to advocate for the rights of children, women, and youth to have quality education based on the values of equality and justice to ensure that no one is left behind. 

Bayyan Sharif
Finance & HR Officer

Holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Birzeit University. She is a highly experienced Accounting and Administrative professional with over 12 years of experience and has provided  comprehensive accounting and administration services to different kinds of businesses and organizations. She specializes in budgeting, reporting, planning and financial analysis. 

Sandy Hmidat
Programs Assistant

Holds a BA in English Literature and Translation, she is Programs Assistant at Teach for Palestine, where she oversees the implementation of educational programs, ensuring alignment with objectives, budget, and timelines. She coordinates field visits, organizes training sessions, and maintains accurate participant data. Sandy builds strong relationships with local partners and supports key activities like summer institutes and outreach. She also contributes to program visibility through content creation for the website and social media, while collaborating with the admin and finance teams on contracts and logistical needs.

Leen Takrrouri
Procurement and Admin Office Assistant

Holds a BA in Mechatronics Engineer with over 7 years of experience in Solar Energy design, procurement, and projects management. Specialized in designing and supervising solar installation for Large scale projects up to 5 Mega Watt. She has successfully supervised the implementation of 35 government schools’ rooftops solar systems, which contributes to sustainable development programs. She is passionate to contribute to raise the awareness about green education and sustainable practices.

Dr. Durgham Khalil
Educational Consultant

Education consultant at Teach for Palestine with a distinguished background in education leadership, community development, and sports. A former UNRWA Area Education Officer and Mayor of Aza’yyem Municipality/ East Jerusalem, he also served as Assistant to the General Secretary of the Palestine Olympic Committee. Dr. Khalil has published extensively on education and physical well-being.
