Teach for Palestine Launches Its First Foundational Alumni Forum Meeting Under the Sponsorship of Bank of Jordan

Teach for Palestine launched the inaugural meeting of the Teach for Palestine Alumni Forum, generously sponsored by Bank of Jordan, reaffirming the organization’s commitment to continuing to support its alumni and strengthening their educational and community impact beyond the completion of their fellowship.

This meeting marks the first step toward building an active alumni community that brings graduates together within an institutional framework, strengthens communication and professional networking, and creates opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange to sustain the impact initiated during their fellowship years. It also provides a platform to celebrate alumni achievements and highlight their diverse contributions to Palestinian society, particularly in the education sector.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Noor Matour, Executive Director of Teach for Palestine; Dr. Mahmoud Talouzi, Branches Director at Bank of Jordan; and Mr. Mazen Jarrar, Director General of the National Institute for Educational Training, accompanied by Dr. Marwan Bakeer, Director of Program Implementation. Also in attendance were the organization’s executive team, representatives of Bank of Jordan, the official sponsor of the event, and Teach for Palestine alumni.

In her opening remarks, Dr. Noor Matour, Executive Director of Teach for Palestine, welcomed the attendees and partners and expressed her gratitude to Bank of Jordan for its support, which reflects its belief in investing in people. Dr. Matour emphasized that the forum represents a genuine extension of the organization’s mission, stating: “Building leaders and driving change do not end when a program concludes; rather, they begin there. In light of the current challenges, solidarity and investment in the potential of our young people are more important than ever to transform challenges into opportunities for innovation and collective action.”

For his part, Dr. Mahmoud Talouzi welcomed the attendees and expressed Bank of Jordan’s pride in its partnership with Teach for Palestine and its support for initiatives that invest in young people and education while strengthening their role in serving their communities. He noted that sponsoring the inaugural Alumni Forum meeting aligns with the bank’s commitment to supporting initiatives that generate sustainable social impact, emphasizing the importance of launching initiatives that contribute to positive change in Palestinian society.

Meanwhile, Mr. Mazen Jarrar highlighted the importance of maintaining connections with alumni after the completion of training programs and recognizing them as valuable educational assets and leaders capable of transferring their knowledge and experience to their schools and communities. He noted that the partnership between the National Institute for Educational Training and Teach for Palestine aims to make a sustained investment in educators and strengthen their role as leaders of change. He further emphasized that establishing an alumni forum is an important step toward sustaining professional learning, facilitating knowledge exchange, and developing initiatives that respond to the priorities of the Palestinian education sector.

The Alumni Forum aims to build a professional and community-based network connecting Teach for Palestine alumni, strengthen their sense of belonging to the organization, and create opportunities for continuous learning, volunteering, and joint initiatives. These efforts align with the organization’s mission to prepare leaders who can drive positive change in Palestinian society.

Part of the meeting was also dedicated to introducing the forum’s vision and future objectives and engaging alumni in shaping its next phase. Participants were invited to identify priorities that reflect their professional and personal needs and aspirations, ensuring that the forum becomes a meaningful space led by alumni themselves, through which they can strengthen their collective impact.

Teach for Palestine extends its sincere gratitude and appreciation to Bank of Jordan for sponsoring and supporting this foundational event, as well as to the National Institute for Educational Training and all partners and alumni who contributed to the success of this launch. The organization reaffirms that this meeting is only the beginning of a long journey of collaboration, connection, and shared commitment to making a difference.
