Teacher Shereen Zaid: “I have come to see the differences in children’s needs as a starting point for learning, rather than a barrier to it.”
From the voices of our teachers in Gaza, we continue our journey of building the capacity of educational staff in the Community Learning Centers affiliated with the Noor Orphans Care Program, through Inclusive Education training, one of the six key components of the training program.
Through the training, teachers strengthened their ability to respond to children’s diverse needs and individual differences, and to adapt educational practices and activities to create broader and more equitable opportunities for participation and learning. The impact of the training went beyond gaining knowledge; it also encouraged teachers to rethink their practices within the learning environment—from identifying barriers that may limit some children’s participation to designing more flexible and inclusive learning experiences that give every child the space to participate, express themselves, and progress according to their needs and abilities.
Because inclusive education begins when we recognize the potential in every child and design learning so that no one is left behind.
