Teach For Palestine Holds General Assembly Meeting and Elects New Board of Directors

Ramallah – Teach For Palestine held its regular annual General Assembly meeting for 2026 on Sunday, April 19, at its headquarters in the city of Ramallah. The meeting was attended by members of the General Assembly, representatives from Al-Kurdi & Associates Legal Consultants, and the organization’s external auditor. An invitation had also been extended in advance to the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in its capacity as the relevant authority.

The Chairlady of the Board, Dr. Tafeeda Jarbawi, reviewed the organization’s key achievements during 2025, emphasizing that despite political and economic challenges, the organization succeeded in making tangible progress in its educational and training programs. These efforts strengthened teachers’ competencies and positively impacted the classroom environment and the quality of education.

Dr. Jarbawi noted that the organization continued to expand its national and international partnerships, while also strengthening its institutional structure and investing in staff development, in line with its vision of creating sustainable impact in the Palestinian education sector. She also highlighted the continued implementation of specialized training programs targeting teachers of the lower basic stage (Grades 1–4), covering inclusive education, climate education, life skills, psychosocial support, digitalization, and the STEAM approach—contributing to improved education quality and connecting educators with sustainable professional opportunities.

The meeting included the presentation and discussion of the organization’s annual report and financial report for the fiscal year 2025, in addition to the statutory auditor’s report. The General Assembly approved all reports in accordance with proper procedures, reaffirming its commitment to good governance and sound financial management.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the current Board of Directors submitted their resignation and were formally discharged, with the General Assembly and the Chair expressing appreciation for their efforts during their term. The General Assembly then approved the election of a new Board of Directors for the upcoming term, followed by a meeting to distribute roles and responsibilities to ensure continuity and strengthen institutional performance. Dr. Tafeeda Jarbawi was elected Chairlady of the Board, Dr. Lily Feidy as Vice Chair, Dr. Rafah Al-Ramhi as Secretary, Mr. Nakhleh Qara’ as Treasurer, with Ms. Hiba Tantash, Mr. Thaer Makawi, and Mr. Ghassan Amayreh serving as board members.
