Teach for Palestine has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Arab American University as part of its efforts to expand collaboration with academic institutions and enhance the integration between academic expertise and the organization’s educational work in the field.
The agreement was signed on behalf of Teach for Palestine by Dr. Tafeeda Jarbawi, Chairlady of the Board of Directors, and on behalf of the Arab American University by Dr. Bara’a Asfour, Acting President of the University. This step reflects both parties’ commitment to building a strategic partnership that contributes to supporting and advancing the Palestinian education sector.
The agreement aims to open avenues for joint collaboration, including supporting applied scientific research, developing high-quality training programs, and providing opportunities for university students and graduates to participate in the organization’s educational and volunteer programs. This will help build their professional capacities and strengthen their role in society.
The MoU also includes linking theoretical knowledge with practical application by accrediting the organization as an official body for training and volunteering, in addition to exchanging expertise and implementing joint initiatives that contribute to improving the quality of education and expanding its impact.
This collaboration aligns with Teach for Palestine’s mission to provide quality education to Palestinian students in the lower basic stage, through developing the capacities of new teachers in areas such as inclusive education, life skills, digitalization, STEAM methodology, psychosocial support, and climate education, as well as improving classroom environments by providing educational resources and technological tools to targeted schools.
