Teach for Palestine Conducted Psychosocial Support Session Series for the First Cohort of Teachers from Non-Governmental Schools

Teach for Palestine conducted a series of in-person sessions held as part of the psychosocial support module for the first cohort of teachers from non-governmental schools. These sessions aimed to build the participants' capacities in the field of mental health and to enhance their skills in dealing with the challenges they face with their students in the classroom, in addition to the psychological challenges faced by teachers themselves.
Throughout the sessions, participants explored a variety of specialized topics in psychosocial support, including: an introduction to mental health, coping with stress and psychological pressure, effective communication skills, issues of abuse and violence, principles and ethics of providing psychological first aid, and the use of expressive arts as a tool for psychological support. The sessions combined theoretical knowledge with practical applications, enriching the overall training experience for the participants.
Innovative interactive methods were used throughout the sessions, such as drawing, creative writing, drama, simulation, and designing classroom activities. These approaches allowed participants to express themselves freely and develop actionable plans to implement in their schools and communities.
