Teach for Palestine Graduates the First Cohort of the Fresh Graduates Capacity-Building Program – Non-Governmental Track

Teach for Palestine celebrated the graduation of the first cohort, “The Leaders of Change Cohort,” from the Fresh Graduates Capacity-Building Program – Non-Governmental Track, following a two-year training journey totaling 385 training hours. The program aimed to prepare qualified teachers capable of responding to the needs of contemporary education.
The graduation ceremony was attended by the Chairlady of the Board, Dr. Tafeeda Jarbawi, along with Teach for Palestine staff, a number of principals from partner non-governmental schools, and a representative of Teach for All network, Katy Noble, Director of Education in Emergencies.
The ceremony opened with a speech by Dr. Tafeeda Jarbawi, in which she reaffirmed Teach for Palestine’s mission to improve the quality of education by investing in the training of new teachers and empowering them with the pedagogical and professional skills necessary to create meaningful and sustainable impact in the education sector.
She also expressed her gratitude and appreciation to the founding partners— Al-Sousou Family Foundation and Teach for All network—for their pivotal role in supporting the establishment of the program and strengthening its sustainability and impact. She further acknowledged the support of the main donors, Dr. Omar and Dr. Samir Abdelhadi, and Bank of Palestine, and expressed her appreciation to all individual and institutional donors.
This was followed by a speech from Reem Marto, Head of Region, Middle East and North Africa at Teach for All network, who praised Teach for Palestine’s success in implementing the program and achieving its objectives despite the daily challenges faced by the education sector under the current circumstances. She emphasized the importance of such programs in supporting education and building local capacities capable of meeting field needs.
The ceremony also featured a speech by the graduates, who expressed their gratitude for the rich training experience and the opportunities it provided for both professional and personal growth. This was followed by presentations of the top three graduation projects, reflecting the high level of creativity and practical application of the program’s training components.
In closing, Katy Noble, Director of Education in Emergencies at Teach for All network, commended the participants’ commitment and the excellence of their projects, emphasizing the importance of the efforts made by Teach for Palestine in supporting teachers and enhancing the quality of education in challenging contexts.
It is worth noting that Teach for Palestine is dedicated to providing quality education for Palestinian students in the early basic education stage by developing the capacities of new teachers in inclusive education, life skills, digitalization, the application of the STEAM approach, psychosocial support, and climate education. The organization also works to improve classroom environments by providing educational resources and technological equipment to targeted schools.
